[ Winter tended to restrict the time they could spend together. While the long school holiday gave her ample free time, it also put her more under the watchful eyes of her uncle, and they absolutely could not get caught by him - Ada feared for Vincent's life just at the thought. On a more general level, the cold made walking in the town or the park or even simply in her garden uncomfortable, the snow made the carriage wheels stick, and the ice tripped up the horses' hooves. Travel was limited.
Even so, however, they did manage it every once in a while, if only due to pure determination. That was how they ended up here in the theater, watching a new play that Ada, at least, had been excited to see - mostly because it involved copious amounts of magic. (Sorry, Vincent.) Unfortunately, being indoors didn't provide quite as much relief from the cold as she'd been hoping for. The dress she was wearing was beautiful and lovely and she very much hoped that he thought so, too, but it also a little thin for this weather. Which wasn't something she'd thought about when she'd picked it out this morning (her only thoughts had been of him, and what he might like), but is now extremely obvious.
Although she's trying her very best to concentrate on the actors and the costumes, she finds herself sinking into her seat and crossing her arms tightly, curling up to try and save at least a little heat. And, unthinkingly, inching just a little bit closer to Vincent in the process. ]
I'M SURE YOU'RE FINE!!
