[ If she offers, she doubts he's just going to reject her. And if he passes out, she can try to drag him there, but she'd rather it not come to that. No questions are going to get answered until she's made sure he's actually going to survive the next ten minutes or so. And she certainly has more than one question she'd like to ask of him. ]

[ He doesn't want to listen to her - mostly because he still wants to be a rebellious little shit. He shouldn't listen to her, because they should be enemies right now, and it's absurd that she's giving him water and not shooing him out of her house instead. That's how she is, though, he supposes - that's how all of them are. Too stubborn for their own good. Akechi considers just sitting down right on the floor where he is, but it sounds more pathetic the longer he thinks about it, as difficult as picking himself up and moving further sounds right now.

And it is difficult. It's excruciating. The pain feels dull and far away, save for his throbbing head, and his body seems sluggish, but he pulls himself onto the couch anyway. Still staring at the glass of water for a moment before he can bring himself to stare at his unlikely savior. ]

[ "Because I'm not like you," she doesn't say, although the words are on the tip of her tongue. He's killed so many people, innocents and not, two of them parents of her teammates. He hadn't been there to see Haru's reaction, and maybe he knew what her mother's death had done to Futaba and simply didn't care, only caring of his own goals.

His actions can't be excused. But she also can't overlook the fact that Akechi is also a victim of, as Ryuji so eloquently puts it, "shitty adults". And she'd meant what she said, when she told him she'd considered him a rival, someone to truly test herself against.
