[A cat calling another (not)cat kitty is weird, but she's rolling with it.]

I'd like to get back to my own ward. She can't be trusted on her own, you know. Who knows what sorts of trouble she'd get up to without me to supervise her?

[not like she CARES but Emma might NEED HER and that could be terrible!!

[ he knows that feeling... sometimes the humans are just so incompetent. In fact, Morgana nods several times in fast agreement. Maybe not Akira so much, but the others? And by the others, I mean Ryuji? Definitely. ]

It's not what we usually do, but I bet we can find her. In exchange, you can tell me what you know about "familiars." [ a pause. ] But don't call me that! I'm not a cat.

[He looks like a kitty, but... she supposes she can understand why he'd get touchy about it. He doesn't know where he came from, right? So maybe he's not a cat. It could be, she's seen weirder.]

Alright, alright. [A cat-shrug, shoulderblades rising somewhat.] Morgana, then.

It's a deal, Morgana. I'll tell you what I know of familiars, and you can help me find my ward. It isn't terribly pressing--I'm sure I'll find her eventually--but I'm curious about your situation too.

[ normally, he'd even go as far as saying he's a human, but... frankly, he's not sure. In the back of his mind, he's always known it was unlikely, and in front of someone like Celine, it feels less likely than ever. Still, this feels more like a victory than a loss - he's one step closer to figuring things out! Or it feels that way, anyway. He pops back up to his feet, tail held high.

She seems like kind of a snob, but he'll take it. Better than Ryuji, right...? ]

Good! Then it's settled. I'll take you to meet him, and I'll keep an eye out for your ward on the side. What's she look like?

[She's absolutely a snob, thanks for noticing, Morgana. Either way, she nods, shifting to her feet easily as well. Progress and decisive action! She likes it.]

She's a young woman, about sixteen, with long purple hair that she keeps in a braid. She wears glasses and has blue eyes.

She'll be difficult to miss if we find her, trust me.

[ he's all about action! Once he thinks she's going to follow him, he starts trotting out of that shady alleyway and back out onto the Shibuya streets. ]

Okay, I'll keep an eye out! Maybe she'll show up at the school...

[ how come he can't do that with Akira... ]

[And follow she does! She trots after him, ribboned tail held high.]

Of course I can. [So primly.] I know when she is near, and when she is in trouble. It is part of our connection, as her familiar.

[ his little cat brow furrows. There's no outward signs other than that, but for a few seconds, he tries his hardest to see if he can feel Akira's presence, too. Even if he would have probably noticed something like that by now - he has to try. But, predictably, he gets nothing. ]

... I can't do anything like that. [ a pause. ] But... Another person like me showing up is way too much of a coincidence. There must be some sort of connection between us.

Hm... I suppose.

[She can't deny that Morgana's a weird anomaly. She doesn't entirely understand him--he seems like he should be a familiar, but he isn't one, especially if he can't sense his...well.

Which...is not Akira, because witches aren't male.

You are a little strange, but... [As if you have room to talk, Celine.] It isn't as though you are completely devoid of magical energy, right?

[ if he knew that even she thought he was a weird anomaly, his heart would break a little... even if he's already getting a creeping feeling that they really aren't the same. As usual, Morgana forces himself to believe that he's on the right track.

Luckily, it's a weekday, so the streets aren't too crowded, and nobody seems to pay two cats walking along the sidewalk any heed. ]

Of course not! This isn't my real form. I can cast spells as well as anyone else in the other world. Actually, maybe better than some of them.

[Look, he's a weird anomaly, but at least he can cast magic! That sounds right to her. No familiar worth their salt would ever be bad at magic. Even "real form" doesn't register as strange to her, knowing how Grianos tends to swap from tiny bird to GIANT BIRD at will.]

It's a start, if nothing else. The rest...we'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

her niceness is appreciated. A lot, actually. Hearing those reassurances from someone who seems like she might actually know what she's talking about makes them feel less like pity when they land. Even with the "memory issues" dig. Morgana turns to her, nodding enthusiastically - his mood (and attitude towards her) seems to have turned around considerably. ]

A coven of witches? Hmmm... Maybe something happened to separate me from my home? I don't remember, but... somehow, that feels kind of familiar...

[She doesn't mind, really; talking about herself doesn't come naturally, so the fact that he loops it back around to his own circumstances suits her perfectly.

You had to come from somewhere. That means that somewhere, you likely have some sort of family, even if they were only so briefly.

[ she really doesn't know about the Metaverse if she can say things like that. He decides not to elaborate. In all honesty, he'd rather not think about being born from a feeling in there - even if it's looking more and more like the truth. ]

[They are both clueless!!! But then, Morgana sure is mysterious... in an almost fun way. Celine knows she shouldn't be so curious about his past, but in a way...she is.]

[ he's wary of explaining too much about the other world before introducing her to the others - he doesn't want to be a Ryuji and blurt something out that'll get them in trouble. ]
