They thought all jewels had some sort of monetary value in human society - apparently, that isn't the case. They did learn that crystal of the same kind coming from the Scottish region could be highly valued if high in quality and authentically from the mountains there, but with no way of proving where they'd gotten the stone from, it was nothing more than a tiny rock. Not to mention that it wasn't the favored translucent shade. ]

Apparently it would be more valuable if they heated it so the color would lighten. [ Their pride clearly took some damage on that day. ] I didn't get it at all...
