stop eating grass seto

[ So maybe Shin couldn't actually eat anymore. That was fine and expected; he'd been fully aware of the consequences of assuming a virtual form when he did it. But he could still remember how to cook and the taste of food and certain dishes. Day by day, spending time with the other few people that shared this little spaceship cabin, he was beginning to remember more about what humanity was really like - before Glass Cage and the human empathy project, before he learned about everything. And little by little, he was starting to open back up again. When they'd celebrated his birthday unexpectedly, he'd been pleasantly surprised - a feeling he hadn't had since that night on Tokyo Tower. But, moreover, he wasn't just pleased; he was grateful. That never happened.

Towards Seto, he especially felt gratitude. After all, he already owed him a great deal. Thus, for once, the bitter Shin felt like he ought to do something for someone, and that would be why he's in the kitchen, apparently making noodles. Just udon noodles.

Maybe he wasn't great at it, but he might as well try. ]

[Every time he woke up, Seto usually went through the process of finding his close friends. Crow was different, he didn't worry too much about him. His best friend had a habit in never being still and Seto could usually find him later on when he wandered around. However, Sai was never too far away or out of touch and Shin rarely left. They were easy to spot and it eased his worries.

That's what led him around the room and eventually to the kitchen. He never actually ate from there often garbage is tasty. Rubbing his eyes and blinking away the sleepies, he looks over at Shin.

...Shin? Are you cooking?

[Curious about what he's making, Seto starts immediately invading Shin's personal space. It's not on purpose. He's just moving closer and closer until he finally can see inside the pot. For once, there's no inquiry about what's happening shin what are you cooking what are noodles what are noodles made out of can noodles help me find Ren why is the water boiling can i drink it. All he does is look up at him and say]

Udon? You know how to make it?

Oh. I see.

[Seto accepts that answer right away and doesn't ask further about his mom or what it's like to have one, though he's a little curious. Shin doesn't sound like he wants to talk about it and bringing up things that will make him sad isn't something he wants to do. Besides, Grandpa was around to take care of him though, so he imagines that old man was like a mom. He made udon noodles too. It was a treat he had tried to teach Seto how to make, but stumbling upon uneaten noodles that were safe to eat didn't happen too often.

He doesn't move away and just continues to stand dangerously close to the pot.

Can I stay here and watch?

[Screw boiling water he does what he wants!! Which in this case means actually listening to Shin and taking a small step back.]

Um. Be careful too.

[Though he's still watching everything Shin does and what you have to do to make Udon noodles. They were always delicious. Kind of a nice change in between grass meals and flower soup. But Shin isn't Grandpa. Maybe this is just something everyone in the world knew how to cook.]

Did everyone in our world make udon noodles a lot?

[You know, when they were alive.]

[shut up don't make him protect you from boiling water okay.]

Oh. I just thought...since you and Grandpa made it the same way, that everyone did it like that.

[Seto likes the idea of udon noodles all the time though.]

They would be easy to carry that way. Prepackaged I mean. Maybe we can even find some more here.

[yeah, be prepared to find large amounts of noodles in the room once he finds their aisle in the store.]

I guess so.

[Back to hovering near the boiling water now yay! it looks delicious and noodley. He waves his hand over it like a moron to feel the warm steam come up. Thankfully, he doesn't burn his hand.]

Do you like to cook, Shin?

[what if he had cried what then huh!! huh?!?!?]

So you don't mind feeding birds and cooking. I'll be sure to remember.

[It's not often that Seto talks about his Grandpa, but it seems like the udon noodles are really making him think about the old man.]

Um. Will you teach me how to make them sometime? If Grandpa ever shows up [Unlikely, but other dead people have]...I'd really like to make this for him.

[YOUR POSTLIFE IS RUINED!]

He tried to. It's just that...it was hard to find them.

Thank you so much. I'll try my very best.

[Seto quickly looks at the soy sauce when Shin pulls it over.]

Do you like soy sauce too?

[Salt>mold. He peers into the bowl to see the little swirls. Weird. Grandpa did that too, for whatever reason. When Seto was younger, it used to make him smile and that's a habit he's grown into.]

...Okay. I'll remember it's extra.

[He immediately shakes his head.]

It's okay. This is how Grandpa made things. I'm used to it.

[There's a connection being made in his head right now though. Shin did a lot of stuff like his Grandpa. It was strange. After living here, Seto's used to people being very different in almost everything they do. ]

[Seto never thought about it, but it was weird. There was always soy sauce on the table, even if there wasn't food to go with it.]

I'm not sure where he found it.

[Yes old man. Let your adoptive grandchild eat grass in the front yard. It's okay. As long as you have The Soy Sauce.]

[You weren't that nice you didn't talk very much gosh!!!]

I think I heard him mention that. Um...I don't think he ever found some.

[Not like Seto knew what it was anyways. Tea made sense. The bubble part didn't. Maybe you could make bubbles with it.]
