you know what to do. whether it's magic compulsion (feat. magical attraction or not), that you're trapped until you kiss, or just tradition and social pressure, you've been caught under the mistletoe and that means you have to kiss.

Morgana stops wrinkling his nose at it to look back at Akira, ears perking up curiously. ]

So it's a decoration. Well, this is a bad place to put it! People are gonna walk right into it.

[ a pause. ]

Is that why it's mischievous?

[ THAT'S DUMB, implies Morgana's tone. ]

[Akira's mouth twitches into a grin]

[and then, as though he's mirroring Morgana's actions from earlier? he bats at the dangling greenery with his index finger]

It's mischievous for trapping innocent couples underneath and encouraging them to kiss.

[ okay, that's not what he was expecting. Of course, he and Akira aren't a couple, so he doesn't even entertain the notion that this applies to them right now. ]

I don't get it... Holidays in this world are weird. [ a pause, followed by a sigh. ] Well... I guess if I was with Lady Ann instead of you...

[purrtagonist]

[. . . HEY. . .]

[without missing a beat, and in that dry tone he uses whenever he's being jokingly serious]

What's wrong with me? I'm pretty cute, too.

[neyouze]

[ he wrinkles his nose, sticking his tongue out. ]

[totally casually, he tucks his hands underneath Morgana's front legs so he can carefully, slowly, cautiously lift him out of the bag at his shoulder]

Your rejection is way too fast. You're going to hurt my feelings, here.

[neyouze]

I don't want to hear about those kinds of feelings from you!

[ the problem with being small and portable - he can't really do anything if someone decides to pick him up. That said, he does sort of protest this unusual action, sticking his legs out about as far as he can. ]

Oi, what are you doing? It's too cold out here.

[purrtagonist]

Who said they were those kind of feelings? Friends can follow the mistletoe tradition, too.

[Akira holds Morgana up in front of him so they're face-to-face, his smile cheeky. the kind of smile he wears when he's about to be A JERK. think button mashing, here]

[he continues, voice solemn]

Sorry I'm not Ann, but we all have to make compromises from time to time.

[and then he totally leans forward, tilts his chin up, and presses a fuzzy cat kiss on top of Morgana's head. THIS IS PURE]

[ oh lord. too late, Morgana realizes what's about to happen, and all he can do is let out a resounding: ]

Eeehh?! W-what are you doing?!

[ immediately, he pushes his paws against Akira's chin - but he's a cat, and his claws aren't even out, despite the barrage of complaints immediately following. ]

Stop it! Weirdo!! You're really embarrassing me!!!

[Akira's expression is dancing with mischief as he pulls back. and with his mission accomplished, he brings Morgana back up to his shoulder, allowing the not-a-cat to hop out of his grasp and back into the bag. should he so choose]

Now my feelings really are hurt.

[they aren't. he's trying so hard not to laugh]

That's not how you treat a friend who taught you about mistletoe.

[neyouze]

That wasn't teaching!! That was harrassment! Harrassment!!

[ morgana, frazzled, digs his claws into akira's shoulder - but only so that he has the leverage to perch there and swiftly bop him on the nose. For like, a second. Then he jumps back into the bag at once without a word, presumably to hide his shame.

He's a delicate soul. ]

[one of those bottled laughs suddenly bursts open, and Akira can't help but snicker as Morgana disappears into his bag]

That was my way of showing appreciation. I would never do anything to purposefully embarrass you, ever.

[with this MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, he starts walking again, towards the Shibuya Station (although he does rub his shoulder a bit, the one that got mildly pricked by some flustered not-cat's sharp claws). Morgana is officially free of mistletoe woes]

[ well. it's nice to hear Akira laugh, but he still feels like he's being bullied. Which is why, after that comment and a few seconds of silence, the tip of his nose pokes back up out of the bag, hesitant. ]

... Really?

[ skeptical... ]

[. . . half-truth. he'd tease Morgana and probably do things to embarrass him mildly on purpose, but. the rest of it?]

[that's sincere.]

Well, yeah...

[ so he's still not very keen on getting smooched, but Akira sounds so sincere it's hard to hold it against him. Maybe he really wasn't teasing him. Is it normal to kiss your friends? Morgana suddenly realizes this must be yet another unfortunate side effect of his current body. ]

If... If you really mean it, then I'll allow it! I guess... But I'm not your pet, you know!

[purrtagonist]

[he lifts a hand and digs his fingers behind Morgana's ears again. scritch scratch!!]

[he's being VERY sincere, here]

of course, he knows Akira is his friend - that's obvious. But Morgana isn't the type to ask for confirmation or to try putting it into words himself, either. And for someone who's constantly doubting his own worth to others - and his worthiness of even hanging around them, despite the bossy confidence he tries to project - hearing Akira call him a partner and teacher, too? That shuts him up for a solid few seconds, big blue eyes widening.

If he could blush, he would. As it stands, he just reaches a paw out and pushes it against Akira's cheek defiantly in spite of the warm, bubbly feeling spreading through his heart. ]

Y-you're so corny all of a sudden! Geez...! [ tsun tsun ]

[purrtagonist]

[TSUN TSUN, MORGANA]

[Akira swats at the paw on his cheek, albeit gently, like he's not actually trying to push Morgana away]

Tis the season for corniness all around, as they say.

[ morgana relents, still halfway hiding in akira's backpack - out of shyness now, most likely. ]

Whatever...! I'm not kissing you back!

[ he'll get boy cooties ]

Suddenly, I'm feeling a little hurt.

[HE KIDS]

[neyouze]

Hmph...! You deserve it for that sneak attack. [ grouch. ] I'll forgive you if you get us sushi-to-go. Maybe.

[he chuckles, and makes a right turn down the next street for sushi]
