Jamjars give people opportunities to place their favorites into alternate scenarios of circumstantial bonding, alliance, animosity, teamwork and sexuality! Some encounters are innocuous and some epiphany-spurring, and whether you're interacting with a castmate or engaging in cross-canon CR, there are opportunities for creativity and exploration only made possible through this format. If you are fucking lazy or don't want to deal with activity-checks or want to do a miniature test drive, just meme it. Just... fucking meme it.---
I
✿1. Horror: Your characters are taken from their own worlds and thrown into a terrifying situation! Things are creepy, resources are scarce, and ensuring your own survival is paramount.
✿2. Sex Game: For whatever contrived and nonsensical reason, your characters are forced into a world where they gotta bone. Aside from smutstuff, you have the opportunity to play out how very awkward it is to navigate these agreements and encounters before and after. Lasting bonds can form from something you didn't expect! But so can eternal regret.
✿3. Slice of Life: Characters are forced to live together in familial units. They have an opportunity here -- in spite of being stuck -- to relax and slow down and do some fun, ordinary things. Picnics, dates, school, etc.
✿4. Fantasy: Characters are forced into guilds and roles, given weapons and are made to utilize their powers in coordinated units to complete missions.
✿5. Scifi: Characters are thrust on to the frontier of spacial colonization! Characters on a spaceship! Characters being drafted into an Imperial Earth Army to fight/conquer foreign entities! Characters being in a world where they are assessed, identified, tracked and policed by artificial intelligence! And so on!
✿6. Reincarnation/ New Identity: Your character has been reborn at this game, or given a new identity. Work out their karma or help them come to terms with having to live a new life.
✿7. Asylum/Prison/Institutionalized Identity: Characters are locked up and put under heavy surveillance. Slowly they are institutionalized and disintegrated from ordinary social rules of engagement. They could be told that they've been identified as mentally dysfunctional, or they could be in prison! Are they pleading their innocence, or do they know they're guilty as fuck back in their world?
✿8. Assignment-Based/Mercenary/Survival: Characters have to put their skills to good use as drafted mercenaries. Help your captors assassinate, spy, sabotage, infiltrate, steal, and terrorize for points that will lead up to your freedom or the freedom of others.
✿9. Your Choice!: Do whatever!---
II
✿1. First Impressions: You never forget your first impression of someone. Unless it was entirely forgettable.
✿2. Oh Hey Again: I kind of know you!!!! Hi!!! I hate this place but love familiarity hi!!!
✿3. Event: SOMETHING IS HAPPENING and your characters have either run into each other or sought each other out to stick together during it!
✿4. Living Quarters: Surprise, your characters are in the same house! Or room! Or building! Either way you have to share space and facilities with this person. Enjoy!
✿5. Mystery: Who Did It? Why Are We Here? Characters are disappearing, people are dying, whatever is happening it is FISHY!
✿6. Canon Update/Respawn/"But we know each other, I swear!": One character comes (back) to a game and does not remember previous CR. A relationship or friend or even hateship is forgotten. How will this be dealt with?
✿7. Begrudgingly Working Together: You are so fucking annoying but I guess we have to fight Monster of the Day Together/Get Unstuck-UnLost Together/Find Our Way Back/Help Each Other Out.
✿8. Is This a Date: Gee, you guys sure are doing a lot of things that people on dates do and you're having a lot of fun [sweats]...
✿9. Violence: Characters beat the shit out of each other or help each other out of a gory situation with terrible traumatic injuries or something!
✿10. One-Sided(?) Crush: How do you get their attention? Or, alternatively, how do you ignore that this person obviously is crushing on you and it's totally awkward
✿11. Protecting/Saving: Your character's chance to be a hero or a damsel!
✿12. Network Post: Mandatory bs.
✿13. Inbox: Hey, can I talk to you for a second? In private?
✿14. Your Choice!: Do whatever!

...Hmph.
[ Mejojo had been somewhat deep in thought as they'd been looking through lush, verdant forests looking for their prey, so he finally breaks the silence to speak up himself, even if at first, it's not to say much more than that. ]
This is getting tiring.
[ Of course it is. Mejojo is the now king of Weblin, even if it's only recently. Following orders wasn't in his blood at all, and so he's been wandering in silence thinking about the orders they had been given. The orders were specific in how they were to accomplish their goal, but that also didn't sit right with Mejojo. So he turns his attention to Auger, perhaps finally, since he's probably been mostly ignoring him up to this point. ]
Auger. Let's try something different.
[ what could "different" possibly be? well, probably enough to made cdc regret recruiting nekoujis ]
no subject
Of course, the fact that Mejojo was actually with him helped matters a bit, but it was easy to tell that a) his brother wasn't in the mood to play with him, and b) his brother didn't like having to do this mission, something which he can think of several possible reasons for. So in the end, he ended up almost as bored as he would have been on his own. It's not surprising that he seems happy when Mejojo finally chooses to address him, his tail shooting up cheerfully. ]
Right? They could have at least given us some horses. Doing it on foot makes me feel like a savage~. [ please, doesn't the CDC know who they're dealing with? in spite of his carefree response, though, he's clearly listening. ] Do you have a good idea, brother?
[ until now, Auger had listened to the CDC because they tended to be generally entertaining. Mejojo, however, was always more entertaining than anyone. The game had changed now that he was here - it was about supporting his twin as he rose through the ranks again. If that meant disobeying their supposed 'higher-ups,' he really didn't care. ]

However, that didn't mean that he didn't have some ideas on how to make this process go more efficiently. They were tracking these creatures since they were clever and stealthy, and easily scared off by the more brutish assault teams. The idea was to find the signs of where they lived and then pass the information along. In that sense, it wasn't difficult for Mejojo to think of this as similar to a wolf hunt, and from there, there was a tactic that he had always favored, but had never been able to use. He looks at the brush, then back to his brother as a smile quirks slightly. ]
Possibly. These things are going to be destroyed regardless, aren't they?
no subject
Mm. Well, mostly. I think they try to save one or two of them, just in case. [ in case of what, who knows... maybe to breed them or something. He doesn't really care. Rounding the wildlife up hadn't fallen to him last time. But the look on Mejojo's face indicates to him that he's about to care even less about it in a few seconds. Auger grins in turn, hopping a few steps over towards him. ] But they usually leave that to some other team, so it doesn't matter. Why?
no subject
Then we burn it.
[ How could fire ever go badly for the nekoujis?? ]
It will smoke out enough for the rest to catch, and destroy the rest. It's no wolf hunt where we have to be concerned with the state of villages nearby. There's not even anything intelligent enough to be worth the trouble.
no subject
Ahaha. Yeah, that's a good idea, brother! And so efficient, too. They'll probably be glad someone is using his head around here!
[ honestly, it is more efficient, as far as he can tell. Much more efficient. Whatever the reason might be for them sticking around on these planets for so long before they destroy them - gathering specimens or data or whatever - it doesn't make much sense to him. What use would they be when the whole place was gone? Just destroying it was quicker and easier - and more fun. ]
If we're going to do that, I have something good, too. Hmmm, here, I think... [ slinging his pack off of one shoulder, he sets it down on the grass, opening it up and combing through it. Being here for a while meant he'd gotten lots of "rewards," and he had the good sense to stockpile most of them until he needed them. After a few seconds, he retrieves a smaller satchel, from which he removes several fist-sized metal objects; he's quick to throw one towards his brother. ]
Catch! They're firebombs~. Dagger gave me some for being a good boy a while ago. [ pause. ] Ah, but don't worry. They won't explode until you pull the tab.
[ he'd never throw a live explosive at you niisan.......... i mean, probably ]
no subject
He catches the firebomb with ease, and his ears perk forward in his surprise, though they're quick to go back to a neutral state. He turns the device over in his hands, looking at it curiously, though he still listens to Auger's explanation attentively. ]
I wasn't worried about that. There's a limit to your rudeness.
[ BUT NOT MEJOJO'S... Also, throwing a live explosive is apparently just rude. Cool. ]
If they explode, we should find a higher vantage point to throw them from. A cliff, perhaps? [ Remember the good old days of pushing wolves off cliffs... Peppridge Farm remembers. ] I'd rather be certain we don't get cornered by flames as well.
no subject
Me? Rude? You must be joking! [ you're a joke auger. But he nods playfully, putting his hand to his forehead a moment after as if searching into the distance for some place they could drop incendiary mines for. ] But you're right. It would be no good if we blew ourselves up. Hmmm... I think if we head east from here, we'll end up on higher ground? I looked at the map before we left.
[ i mean, he could technically look at it right now, but fiddling around with technology is always a pain in the ass for him ]
no subject
I remember that as well. It seems as good a place as any.
[ Mejojo nods as if to affirm that, then waves a hand for Auger to follow as he starts to walk in that direction. ]
...I have to wonder, though, why all the trouble? It seems easier to just capture a few if they want a sample and then destroy the planet.
no subject
Beats me, brother. They're always really cagey when people try to ask. [ he links his arms behind his head. ] Maybe it takes a while for them to collect all the information they need? Although with all their technology, I'd think it would be a snap.
[ he wouldn't mind as much if they got to sleep in actual beds instead of rover cots and eat actual food instead of hunted aliens and canned beans. ]
no subject
[ Mejojo certainly seems to be thinking along the same lines as Auger with his drop in expression that implies that he's not impressed. He mulls it over for a few moments, but ultimately, he just sighs. ]
They'll make us earn our stay, it seems. It's a bit irritating.
[ It's not exactly his sort of work, to say the very least. Auger was well suited for it, he supposed, but Mejojo had taken the route with more paperwork, and had become accustomed to it as a result. He was content to simply move pieces into place, then let others take over the actual legwork.
...It's a good thing his reward was so great, really. Otherwise, he wouldn't bother with this. ]
dare i ask what his reward would be
[ you can't make a king work like a common soldier! He's completely unimpressed by their lack of respect for authority. Despite his aloof comments, their new mission seems to have lifted his spirits; he walks alongside Mejojo with a skip in his step. ]
Although... It is pretty fun to go play outside with you like this. It's almost like we're kids again. [ he grins rather crookedly, a bitter twinkle in his eyes. ] This might be safer, though.
death to all wolves except arles (bc mejojo is going to kill him)
[ He only makes a light sound at first, but it's clear what he's thinking, since a smile to match Auger's comes to his face, though his is more muted, as always. It's given to both comments, really, because it's true that this is not a king's work, and he should have been placed somewhere more in leadership, but... He can at least understand his placement here just as well. They're both areas that he excels in.
The latter, though... That's what he actually choses to respond to. Complaining about his position (or lack thereof) all day isn't something he's interested in, but a bit of nostalgia is something he doesn't mind indulging. ]
We certainly don't have to worry about our food nearly as much.
[ That gets him to laugh softly, even, but there is a bitter edge to that as well. ]
It's too bad Julian ran away again. It would have been even more fun to have dragged him along. [ not for julian though ]
puts an icepack on mejojo's sore butt
He smirks at the reply and the laugh, but, for once, doesn't say anything more about it. It's not something he particularly feels like rehashing. ]
Mmm, it sure is. I asked for him to come back with me, but I guess they didn't listen. Toooo bad. [ he shrugs, not seeming too upset. Honestly, he doesn't really care about Julian - he'd much rather have Mejojo. There was no comparison between the two of them. Grinning, he flicks his tail over to brush against his brother's for a playful second. ] But they got you for me instead, so I'm not complaining! You're way, way better than he is. Don't worry, brother - as long as we're together, we'll have plenty of fun here!
>:(!!!
Or we'll just have to make our own. That doesn't seem too hard, at least.
[ He looks at Auger, but then shrugs. ]
I miss our dungeon already, though.
(*´∀`*人*´∀`*)
[ a small, awed voice, clearly teasing (or mocking - with Auger, it's always a bit of both.) Perhaps surprisingly, he hadn't really thought about their "play room." It was convenient, to be sure, but not having it hear just meant being more creative. There was something about being more secretive in their methods that sent a chill of excitement down his spine. Desperation always made games more intense. ]
What would we even put in there now?
that's so cute...
[ The teasing at least hits its mark, since it gets Mejojo to get more serious right away, complete with his ears perking forward a fraction more as if to fit that image. Still, it's only for a moment, an immediate response to Auger's comment, because out here, alone, there's not really anyone to overhear how awful they are. ]
I don't have any ideas for now. I haven't met anyone quite interesting or offensive enough to earn the honor. [ And it is an honor. To be taken to their play room was a thing that few people that crossed the twin princes was afforded, since it meant they had to have a special interest in you. Of course, that said, you didn't want the interest at all... ]
You know the Huma here better than I. [ Mejojo knows they're not just Huma here, but the aliens hadn't exactly interested him much. ]
hehe
Mm. Well, that's because you always keep to yourself so much, brother. You should get out and talk to people more! [ his poor nerdy big brother, always working. and being mad. sometimes both at the same time. Clearly, he needs to take him out on the town to meet some people. ] Most of them are just stupid wastes of space, but some of them are kinda funny. And we might be able to use some of them, too.
[ he trails off with a small hum, but his silence is short; his voice becomes sweet, almost eager. ]
Of course, it's fine if you just ignore them and play with me instead...
waddles back
That's not an option. [ Shut down... But he sighs and shakes his head as his ears perk back up from how they had flattened lightly. Spending time with Auger was still preferable to pretty much anyone else, so maybe this is his form of teasing in response. ]
But if they're refuse, then all the better that I keep to myself. Wasting time with people like that is a bore.
