DINO ATTACK 3

[ So - rainforest, heavy on both the rain and forest components, humidity, and a distinct sense of unease. That appeared to be what we were dealing with here. Tidus was sorry to say it wasn't the first time something like this had happened to him, but at least he wasn't totally confused and clueless this time.

Well. All right, he was still pretty confused and generally clueless, but he did have the experience to keep from totally flipping out. For now, anyway.

First matter of business: find shelter, because it is incredibly uncomfortable to be standing around in the rain in this humidity. He was in and out of the water all the time, sure, but - call it a gut feeling: he needed to get out of here, and fast. It looked like luck was on his side when he came across a cave, which was undoubtedly dark and creepy, but probably dry. Except he is fairly certain he just heard some kind of weird noise, though he's not sure if it came from the cave or somewhere else. The rain made it hard to tell. ]

Uhh... Hey! Hello? Anyone in here?

[ Oh, someone was going to pay for this dearly. He would not rest until whomever was responsible for this was given a good thrashing. If he was going to get kidnapped or whisked off to some unknown place, it could at least be inside. Even a cellar would do. At this point, the prince wasn't picky. He'd even settle for an unstable shack, just as long as there wasn't dirt and rain.

The prince was weighed down by his massive cloak and metal wings as he trudged through mud. He had given up on keeping his crown on his head, and it now rested around his arm like an over sized bracelet. Dear God, he couldn't recall a time when he was more agitated than he was now. Getting stabbed was like a picnic compared to this. Slapping away low hanging branches while simultaneously trying to drag along his cloak was proving to be quite a vigorous task for the prince, but he refused to surrender to the weather. Screw you, rain! YOU WILL NOT WIN THIS BATTLE.

Preoccupied with planning his revenge for whoever put him in this predicament, he didn't notice someone yelling until the very last syllable. By then, he wasn't entirely sure if he actually heard someone else's voice or it was just the wind and rain. Person or no person, Vilof needed to shout at something. ]

You better enjoy your freedom now, you...churl! I will not be disheartened so easily! You have picked a fight with the wrong man! [ YEAH, TAKE THAT WORLD. You messin' with the wrong prince. ]

[ An edge of the prince's cape became snagged on a branch, and he began to pull at it while continuing to shout insults at nothing in particular. Off in his own clean, completely dry world, he didn't seem to notice Tidus until he got closer. He immediately swipes a hand at Tidus like a grumpy cat, glaring. All that he was missing to complete the image was a loud hiss. ]

Ah! Who are you?! [ He leaves his cape alone to keep both hands free, as if to swat at Tidus again. He doesn't even give the poor guy time to reply before yelling again. ] Answer me!

[ With Vilof, you're going to have to muster every ounce of tolerance (a dollop of patience would help too) you can, especially now that "What's your problem?" has been spoken. WHAT IS HIS PROBLEM? WHAT'S HIS PROBLEM? Oh, Tidus - You haven't just poked the bear, you've kicked him in the face with your muddy shoe.

Vilof gives Tidus a look of disbelief. COULD HE NOT SEE THE PROBLEM? IT WAS RAINING, THERE WAS MUD EVERY WHERE. Who cares about figuring out where the Hell they were, he was going to catch a cold like this! He had so many better things to do than wander around some God forsaken forest, with weird...trees he had never seen before, and stupid sludge. ]

Did you just honestly ask that question?! Look where I am! Look at the condition I am in! [ HE IS DISTRESSED!! Taking a step back, he attempts to figure out where his cape got stuck. He continued to face Tidus, in case a good smack needed to happen to knock some sense into this guy. Pft, what was his problem...it's so obvious. ]
boredofyourface: (I'd be there a lot sooner)

LOL WHAT?

How about we save the pleasantries for a more appropriate time? [ If Vilof didn't sound irritated before, he sure did now. He back tracked enough to find the fallen branch that his cape was caught on and gave the fabric a good tug. He looked pleased when he was able to yank the cape free without much damage (that he could see, anyway) but that teensy moment of happiness was washed away, quite literally, when a large leaf that had been collecting water finally gave way and dumped its contents onto Vilof's head.

THAT'S IT. That's the straw that broke the camel's back. An angry "UGH" escaped his mouth before he thought SCREW IT. He was already dirty, he might as well just embrace it. He gathered as much of the cape as he could, scooping up mud, small twigs and leaves along with it, and held it in his arms. He looked past Tidus through sopping bangs and noticed the cave behind him. God, how primitive. Without saying another word to Tidus, the prince marches right past him toward the cave. ]
boredofyourface: (The cops knocked on our door)

OOOoohh yes B(

[ HE'S A PRINCE, HE'LL DO WHAT HE WANTS. He gets to the foot of the cave and stops, trying to figure out how he's going to get off this damn cape and the decorative wings attached to it. He didn't want to get the cave all wet and muddy, but Vilof dragged the stupid cape and wings this far, he didn't want to just leave it at the weather's mercy after all that work...SIIIIGHHhhhhh.

He struggles for a moment to get the cape off as the metal wings clank together loudly. He lowers himself to the ground and he pulls the cape over his shoulder. Pushing it off toward the side of the cave opening, he makes some sort of intangible mumble as mud splashes onto him. He shakes his head and brushes himself off, as if that was supposed to make him miraculously dry, and he steps into the cave. ]

There. Now, what were you going on about? [ Vilof still looks like a miserable, drowned cat, but at least he was shielded from the rain for now. Mood level + .00001 ]
boredofyourface: (it was either that or behind a dumpster)

[personal profile] boredofyourface 2012-09-22 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
And I asked that question first. [ Sorry, Tidus. He's also a nice guy once you...uh, get to know him. He thinks for a moment, tilting his head to the side while he glances at nothing in particular. ] Oh, wait - yes. "Tidus", was it? [ See, he was kind of paying attention... ]

You may call me Vilof. [ Despite looking terrible and less than royal, he has a tone that would suggest otherwise. ]
boredofyourface: (Everyone makes mistakes)

[personal profile] boredofyourface 2012-09-23 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
Not that I know of. I have traveled quite a bit and never seen plants like these before. [ He was talking about the trees, but his nod toward the outside doesn't make that very specific. The prince makes a quiet "hmph", still holding a grudge against the awful weather and takes the crown off of his arm. ]

I do not remember how I got here. [ He talks while rubbing some dirt off the crown. ] Do you?
boredofyourface: (Can I get a DUI with a shopping cart?)

AND THEN POE TAKES 100 YEARS for a tiny post - entschuldigung ;-;

[personal profile] boredofyourface 2012-10-04 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[ They don't have palms trees where he's from! Okay, Tidus!!! ]

No, I have not heard of such a place. [ Now that Vilof was under some kind of cover, his tone was getting just a tinsy bit less demanding, but it was going to take a lot more than sitting in a cave to make Mr. Persnickety Pants here happy. ]

[ Yo, man. What's with all these weird names? Vilof figured Tidus must be from some far off kingdom he wasn't familiar with. Only one way to find out...]

No, I have not heard of that one either. Are these countries you are naming?
boredofyourface: (someday when you wake up)

[personal profile] boredofyourface 2012-10-11 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I never said anything like that at all. I only said I have not heard of "Spira" or "Zanarkand".

[ Geesh boi, listen to your local prince. ]
